alhamdulillah, we safely arrived in edinburgh airport on 10/2/09 at 9pm after half an hour delay at shannon airport. the night was cold, colder than cork or galway. there was trace of snow everywhere in edinburgh. we were picked up by pokdir's honda. after borak2 in the car, we knew that they had heavy snow there 2 days earlier. bestnyer, iti siap main slide n buat snowman lg with the kids.
we reached pokdir's house. after mkn2, we slept with full stomach. alhamdulillah...sejuk2 ni selera mkn makin bertambah...hehe.
that was day 1. on the second day, after we had a good breakfast, meehoon n nugget, we made our way to go shopping, at first for the groceries, but we went for the second trip to livingstone,a massive outlet for tha most branded items. sambil2 shopping ski pants, gloves and goggles for the next day skiing trip, sempat lg tgk2 brg2 tefal,kasut clark etc. giler byk sale. according to pokdir,sale x abeh2 since boxing day aritu. maybe dats their way to keep on surviving. skrg byk kedai tutup as the effect of econoomic downturn takes place.a few kedai buat closing down sale.huhu.
day 3 was the day we really enjoyed. awal2 pg before subuh lagi pokdir dh bgn n bersiap2. since adin n me slept in the living room, nmpk je pokdir bersiap2, terpaksa la bgn jugak.hehe. kl x, ade hrpn smbung tido lg. sejuk betul di waktu pg di sana. che da cooked nasi goreng for the breakfast. after shower n subuh prayer, kami bersiap2. our agenda was to go skiing in cairngorm mountain in the highlands in northern ediburgh.
pg tu,as i was hoping for, we had a heavy snow. yeay...bestnyer main snow. snow texture is smoother than ais abc.easily melted away. n if u are walking during the snow, u have to be very careful sbb jln can be very slippery. we had an incident where akilah fell forward n banged her face onto the slippery road that morning while adin n pokdir tgh packed our things up in the car.rase mcm dlm peti ais plak. everywhere is white...
we took 3 hurs plus to reach our destination. along the way, we could see snow everywhere.best.the mountain covered totally with snow. sejuk. pokdir drove slowly sbb bhy kl drive laju2 in this weather. adela jugak terserempak few times dgn lori yg clean the snow. siap ade kereta yg terbabas ke tepi jln, myb sbb x nmpk ade dain yg covered with snow.
bile smp ke mountain, sejuk yg amat.kakak n adik dan komplen sakit kaki sbb kaki sejuk though they have worn several layers of tights together with socks.mmg sejuk pon. huhu. everybody pay 16 gbp to board the furnicular (the train which takes up the the peak of the mountain) n 20gbp plus for snowboard n ski respectively.
