Mok Yoh(nye-moyang haikal) is frequently talking and letting us know how much she desire to eat her own betik, hence the reason why she really protected her only one 'pohon betik' in front of the house. well, there is a problem with having pokok betik around here in Banggol Chantek. its the MONKEYS!!!
yes, u hear me right! its the MONKEYS who always destroy any pohon betik which ever grown here. mok said that there was no problem before to grow any pohon betik. but recently, with the increase population density and people using more space to build houses, monkeys have no place to live inside the forest, the reason why they keep bothering people here in this rubber estates.
and they like to eat the leaves of papaya tree (besides ubi).
for the past few weeks, we have been helping mok to protect the tree. before, mok used fish net to protect the leaves, but as the tree grow, there is no more space around the tree for the leaves to grow, thus mok asked us to modify the net. mok placed two long wood besides the tree to place the net.we have been working on it one whole evening, finding ways on how to stand the wood along the tree and to spread the net on top of it.
however, a few days ago, despite Mok's hardwork and effort and sweat (plus hope), the tree has been destroyed by a group of monkeys and now the tree has been left leaf'less'. mok laughed looking at the tree (and we laughed too). it has been attacked twice by those monkeys. the first attack, few leaves was saved and left behind, but they came and finished them all at the second attack. seriously, pokok itu sudah dogol!!!(will paste the picture later). hehe..
kelakar kelakar. now, mok decides to just buy betik if she wish to eat one. =)
