Week 32
It is time for some serious shopping, getting in the things you need for the baby such as clothing. You only need a minimum of basic items because a newborn grows so quickly.
As well as nappies (and a baby goes through at least six a day), you will need a changing mat, moist wipes, a barrier cream and toiletries such as soap, baby lotion, shampoo and cleansing lotion. Unless you are using a washing-up bowl, you will also need a baby bath.
You will also need bedding for baby, but check out the guidelines designed to prevent cot death before you buy too much. Then there is the adorable stuff – those sweet little outfits and cuddly stuffed toys…
Your baby's proportions are now pretty much as you would expect them to be at birth. He/she is much stronger and, in 90% of cases, lies with the head down towards your pelvis.
The baby's movements are now very vigorous and clearly discernible, a sign that he/she is in good health.
Any marked reduction in your baby's movements should be reported to your health professional immediately.
