ANC @ 36 weeks

i just back from CUMH for my 36 weeks antenatal check-up.
Alhamdulillah, i reached CUMH 15 min earlier than i supposed to, found myself ample of time to find book on pregnancy in the bookstore in the hospital ground. later, queve for my number and seen by midwife in 15 minutes time. really quick than the last time i was there.

well, as for today, my Hb went up to 13.3 from 12.5. it was amazing (and weird) as i havent taken Galfer religiously for the past 4 weeks. i took Galfer whenever i remember to take it.and most of the time, i forgot about it. haha..bad me. anyway, my Hb is fine. so i do not need to worry about it at all.

my urine is fine. NAD. and BP is also fine. i'm flying through this pregnancy ;). anyway, the midwife that attended me did a bit of explanation on Induction of labour (IOL) that i'll be having in 3 weeks time. she answered to all my questions, and i am very satisfied with it. she asked me about my choice of pain reliever during the induction, in which of course i opt for epidural. i think i have a low threshold for pain (from my first experience), thus i better let them know early so that i wont be in agony during my labour.

later, after i finished with her, i waited for another 5-10 minutes before being called again to the consultation room, this time it was not Prof Greene who saw me, but Dr Firas, the registrar. he was nice, very nice. he told me that he knew me the moment that he called in my name, and he is aware of what happened to me as he worked in Limerick before. he said my name seemed so familiar, and yes, he was there when i lost afnan. unfortunately, i could not recall him to be present during that time (well, i tried not to remember).

we had a long discussion about what is going to be happen during my IOL. i will be induced in 3 weeks time, in which i will be admitted to hospital on 12th of July, and will be induced the following day. since he knows my history, he advised me to be actively involved in the management of my labour. if i think the baby is in distress this time, i have to be determined if i want to have Caesarian section or not, otherwise they wont do that. like last time, they just wait and see even though the CTG showed that Afnan was in distress during the labour. he said, it is your baby, and u have the right to make the decision. well, i have to let hubby knows about this as he will accompany me during the labour, i want us to have a consensus when/in what condition do we want them to C-sect me.

we had a long chat about this. he answered to all my Q well. and explained to me that CTG has 50% false positive result. so, i cannot trust on CTG alone as it can produce wrong result 50% of the time.

anyhow, he scanned me. the scan shows that baby is doing fine, and the growth rate matches the gestational age. there was one time when he looked so attentively to the screen monitor trying to find the baby's Doppler which makes me scared in the beginning (i was thinking the worst, thought that he could not find the heartbeat). but later on, he explained that he was trying to find the best angle to look into the baby's Doppler. According to him, the Doppler is obviously fine,as the baby grows well, but considering my case, he just want to confirmed that eveything is ok. he showed me the way he determined the SBP and DBP of the baby. and my baby's BP is great. no sign of any abnormality or any distress. Alhamdulillah.baby is already cephalic, with normal fundus height. normal amniotic fluid volume, with normal placenta. so, no problem so far...syukur...

as for the IOL, i will be given Prostin(prostaglandin) gel during the evening on 12th July, and the will proceed from there.

The next appointment will be in 2 weeks time i which i have to be examine vaginally. huhu...luckily,hubby will be present during that time. and...terfikir nak mintak doktor perempuan la nanti..segan+malu..huhu..

baby...ibu eagerly waiting to see u. be healthy for ibu ok... remember to give ibu a loud cry when u come out from my big tummy...ibu miss u!
